What is Jaw Crusher Main Frame?
The jaw crusher main frame is the main heavy‑duty body of a jaw crusher. It is usually made of strong cast steel or thick welded steel plates.
All other key parts are fixed on this frame, such as eccentric shaft, pitman, toggle parts and jaw plates.
There are two common frame types. Small and medium crushers use one‑piece cast frame. Large heavy crushers use split frames joined by bolts.
Good main frames get heat treatment to remove inner stress. This stops the frame from bending under strong shock during crushing. If the main frame is poor quality, parts will not fit well. You will get extra vibration, fast wear on jaw plates and frequent machine stops.
What Does Jaw Crusher Main Frame Do & Where It Works
- Hold all parts together: It supports eccentric shaft, moving jaw, toggle plate and other inner groups. The machine runs steady under heavy working load.
- Take strong impact: It bears shock from crushing hard materials like granite, basalt and iron ore in primary crushing work.
- Protect machine body: It installs cheek plates (side liners). These liners stop rocks from hitting and wearing the main frame directly.
- Keep correct crushing gap: It keeps the right space between fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate. So the finished stone size stays stable.
