• Ceramic‑insert composite anvils (MMC) – These have titanium carbide or ceramic blocks embedded in a high‑chromium base. Tests show they can last three times longer than ordinary high‑chrome anvils under the same conditions. This greatly reduces replacement frequency and downtime. They are ideal for very abrasive materials like granite, basalt, and quartz sand.
