What Are Chrome Blow Bars？

Chrome blow bars (also called high‑chrome blow bars) are important wear parts installed on the rotor of horizontal shaft impact crushers.

During secondary and tertiary crushing, the rotor spins at high speed. The blow bars hit hard, abrasive materials like granite, river pebbles, and aggregates, throwing them against the impact plates. This breaks the material into smaller pieces and shapes it.

Because blow bars directly touch the raw materials, they suffer from constant rubbing and wear. In highly abrasive conditions, manganese or martensitic blow bars wear out quickly. Chrome blow bars last much longer, so you replace them less often and reduce unplanned machine stops.

Why Choose Chrome Blow Bars?

Chrome blow bars are made of high‑chromium cast iron, with 12% to 30% chromium content. This creates very hard wear‑resistant particles inside the metal. They have several advantages for abrasive crushing:

• Top wear resistance – After heat treatment, their surface hardness reaches 60–64 HRC, much higher than manganese or martensitic bars. Under the same abrasive conditions, they last 2–3 times longer than martensitic steel bars.

• Keep a sharp edge – The hard structure keeps the working edge sharp during operation. This helps maintain stable crushing efficiency and uniform particle size for a long time.

• Different grades for different jobs – We offer Cr12, Cr15, Cr20, and Cr26 series alloys. You can choose the right grade for mild, medium, or severe abrasion.

• Upgraded ceramic composite version – Our premium chrome ceramic blow bars have titanium carbide blocks added. Under the same conditions, they last 200%–300% longer than standard chrome bars.
