Martensitic with Ceramic Blow Bars for Sandvik CI series Impact Crushers

We just shipped a batch of martensitic with ceramic blow bars for Sandvik CI732 to our overseas customer. also sandvik company has CI721, CI722, CI731 models. We will take the CI732 blow bar as an example to introduce our ceramic blow bar below.

Simple Explanation of Ceramic Distribution Drawing for Martensitic with Ceramic Blow Bars (Sandvik CI732)

our Martensitic with Ceramic Blow Bars specially made for Sandvik CI732 crusher. Let me walk you through the ceramic layout and design advantages in easy words.

1. Brief Introduction of All Views on the Drawing
Main top view (H-H section, scale 1:6)
Total length of the blow bar is 630mm. The two reddish-brown long strips on top and bottom are ceramic wear-resistant layers. The grey middle part is solid tough martensitic steel base. In the center, there are mounting slots and bolt holes for fixing on the rotor.

Side cross-section G-G (scale 1:4)
This cutaway view clearly shows the ceramic blocks are embedded deep inside the martensitic steel, not just stuck on the surface. The steel wraps around ceramics tightly to stop them falling off under heavy rock hits.

Lower H-H enlarged section
It displays the internal arrangement of ceramic pieces. Ceramics are arranged in continuous segmented rows, with steel filling all gaps between ceramic units.

3D solid drawings at the bottom
You can directly see the two full-length ceramic strips running along the top and bottom of the whole bar. No ceramic is added on the middle mounting base.

2. Ceramic Layout Design Based on Actual Crushing Force
Area 1: Two long high-density ceramic strips.
Position: These two strips are the front surfaces that directly hit and grind stones, covering the full 630mm working length.

Ceramic ratio: 60%~75% high-density ceramic composite layer, made of interlocked angular ceramic blocks.
Working function: Stones crash and rub against these surfaces most heavily. Hard ceramics take almost all abrasion and cutting wear. Surrounding martensitic steel locks ceramics firmly so they will not chip or drop off during crushing.

Special benefit for CI impact crushers: Rocks hit both upper and lower surfaces back and forth during operation. Two ceramic layers double the service life, and you can flip the bar upside down to reuse it after one side wears out.

Area 2: Middle solid martensitic steel zone (no ceramic at all)
This area includes bolt holes, rotor clamping slots and the central main body.
Material: 100% tough martensitic cast steel, zero ceramic.Working function:
The mounting base bears strong twisting force from fast-spinning rotors and tight bolt pressure. Martensitic steel resists stretch and cracks, so the bar will never break at the fixing position.
The central steel body acts as a strong buffer. It absorbs huge impacts from big hard rocks and prevents the whole blow bar from snapping.

Area 3: Gradual transition zones between ceramic and steel
You can see smooth gradient layers on the G-G cross-section. The ceramic content slowly reduces from the wear surface to the central steel base.
It removes internal stress between ceramic and martensitic steel, so the two materials will not split or crack after casting and long-time running.
On all side edges, ceramic fades out completely, leaving pure martensitic steel to protect corners. This avoids easy chipping of pure ceramic edges under complex impact force.

3. Key Advantages of This Structure
Double-sided wear-resistant design
Ordinary blow bars only have one wear face. Our bar has two ceramic working sides. After one side wears out, flip it over for another full service cycle, cutting your replacement cost by half, perfect for continuous large production lines in Europe.
Deep embedded ceramic structure (proven by G-G cross-section)
Ceramics are buried inside steel instead of a thin surface coating. Steel wraps three sides of each ceramic block. It is many times more resistant to ceramic falling off when crushing hard rock like granite and basalt.

Force-targeted layout fits Sandvik CI732 working conditions perfectly
High-density ceramic on wear surfaces: 2~3 times longer service life than standard all-martensitic blow bars, great for high-quartz hard stone.

Full martensitic steel at mounting parts: Zero risk of bar breakage, no unexpected production shutdowns.
Gradient transition layers: Matched thermal expansion rate of steel and ceramic. No cracks in cold winter, no ceramic peeling in hot crushing shifts, suitable for all-year outdoor European mines.

Exact OEM size matching
Total length 630mm, hole positions and clamping slots fully match original Sandvik CI732 part No.751.0961-001. No machine modification needed, direct replacement. Balanced weight keeps rotor running smoothly, less vibration and bearing damage, meets European industrial safety standards.

4. Ideal Working Scenarios for European Customers
Hard rock crushing: granite, basalt, river pebbles, quartzite
Construction waste recycling: concrete blocks, reinforced concrete, road crushed stones
Aggregate production lines & road infrastructure stone processing
Non-stop CI impact crusher lines with large feed size and heavy impact loads

5. Summary
The ceramic layout on this drawing is a well-designed gradient composite solution made for real crushing stress.
Two long embedded high-density ceramic strips handle heavy abrasion to extend service life. The solid martensitic steel center provides strong impact resistance to avoid breakage. Smooth transition layers eliminate material separation and cracking issues.
This design perfectly balances long wear life and anti-break performance. It is a cost-effective wear part customized for Sandvik CI732, ideal for European customers running high-intensity continuous hard rock crushing plants.
