Moving Jaw Body
The Moving Jaw Body, more commonly referred to as the mantle in cone crusher terminology, is a critical wear part and the primary moving component within a cone crusher. It plays a central role in the crushing process by exerting compressive force against the stationary concave (or bowl liner) to reduce the size of feed material.
The mantle is mounted on the main shaft and is driven by the eccentric assembly. As the crusher operates, the mantle gyrates within the concave, creating a narrowing crushing chamber. This gyrating motion exerts immense pressure on the feed material—typically rocks, ores, or minerals—compressing and crushing it against the concave until it reaches the desired size and exits through the discharge opening at the bottom.
